Autocross coming to St Charles

I hope this news brings out some new competition and new group of spectators. My goal for the 2011 season is to win the XP class which I had wrapped up in 2010 had I not missed the last few races. So come on out and keep me honest.



SCCA Solo Announcement – A new venue has been secured for St. Louis Region SCCA Solo program. We will be at Family Arena in St. Charles for the 2011 Season. We are set to have at least 10 events for 2011. This comes on the same day as the announcement of the closing of our current venue, Gateway Raceway.

The new venue is exciting news to know we will be autcrossing in St. Louis in 2011. Family Arena will be a sponsor of our Solo program for 2011.

The SAC has scheduled a TOWN HALL – SOLO COMMUNITY Meeting to answer questions and ask for input from the Solo Community on Tuesday December 7 at Spazio’s at 6PM.
 
Well, since this is literally 10 minutes from my house, I really have no excuses :D Not a big autocross person, nor is my car :rolleyes: but I'll give it a whirl a time or two.
 
They use to run events there in the past untill some of the competitors took it upon themselves to warm there cars up in the adjacent subdivisions, hope its different this time!
 
Yes the racing is done for the year. It usually starts back up march to april timeframe.

Lets hope the same thing does not happen again with the noise issues. There a few of the cars that normally run that are quite loud. They may have to make some modifications.

I think it would be fun to have the whole club show up for one of the test and tunes just to have fun together. They are very informal and give lots of opportunities for car swapping and rides without the pressure of competition.

Tim I think the only excuse you have to not come out is that your purple car is afraid of my little small block! :D
 
First event is April 3rd. I am working hard to get the coupe painted and running for it. Hope to see some roadsters there.

Didn't see this until now. Snake and Egg's scheduled for this coming Sunday, but I'm sure I could make it by for some of this.
 
What time does the autocross start? I'd be interested in dropping by after the Snake & Eggs. I want to see Mike open a can of whoop ass with that Daytona!
 
I am running in Heat #1 so 1st lap will be around 10:00 and done around 12:00. I will then be working heat #2 from 12:00 - 2:00. I will have more time during 10-12 while I am running to chat. I can give rides to anyone, but you need a weekend membership for insurance purposes which is $15. I have a co-driver so the car will see 8-10 timed laps.
