1) I finally found a politician that I agree with - and he's a democrat !!!!
I don't how he slipped under the radar - but I think his view on the war in Afganistan is right on the money.

Eric Massa (D) New York is a retired Naval Commander. I don't know anything about him - but saw him on The Ed Show after the big speech.

2) Also - On another topic - I saw this link on FFR - follow the link and read the story.
Could this be true?

3) Finally - the other day as I was renewing my driver's license, a lady approached me to sign a petition to proteset the State of MO efforts to impose a 1% Sales tax on home sales (to be paid by the seller). Has anybody heard of that?

3 Topics to keep you guys busy for a while - Cheers!

Rep. Massa is certainly confident, well informed & eloquent regardless of whether you do or do not disagree with him. He certainly doesn't sound like the typical "liberal" democrat. Perhaps he is a "conservative" democrat. I'd sure like to know more about him. Any other info available on him Mark?

I saw him for the first time on The Ed Show - Tuesday after the speech - and he was even better than the clip I used here. I like what he says about the war. I have a feeling though we won't be hearing from him too much. He's got a "common sense" swagger about him that just doesn't fit in with either party - don't you think?

He's certainly got swagger. And your right a "common sense" attitude that is sorely lacking amongst most if not all other politicians. Is that why you think he won't go far? It sadly seems that unless a politician is willing to compromise his principles, assuming they have any, for the sake of pandering to certain special interests groups on each side of the fence, he or she is not going to go very far. Query: What's the difference between a politician & a whore? Their asking price? I like this thread. :) He's different that's for sure & I agree with you, in a good way. And your right, he doesn't seem to fit the mold of a prototypical democrat & yet he calls himself a democrat. He appears to fit the mold or personality type of a conservative. What do you think?

Mark,

The incident on Flight 297 has been reported by several individuals who were on the flight. However there are conflicting stories between the accounts. What is surprising is that apparently none of these accounts have been reported by the media...including FOX who normally would seize the opportunity to report any terrorist activity.

Its possible too that this incident is being swept under the rug to avoid panic in the flying public. The airlines have their own set of problems.

I do believe it happened but I also believe the incident is being suppressed or trivialized to avoid further anti-Muslim sentiment by the American public.

Re: the common sense Democrat...I believe until 2010 elections these moderate and conservative Democrats are the only hope our country has of keeping the Obama agenda in check. I personally vote for conservative candidates... and they have been both Republicans and Democrats in the past. It is the Liberals and their agenda in both parties that needs to be defeated.

Oh my - was I wrong! This guy turned out to be a complete douche. Too bad.

I orginally felt the same way as you about this guy...what a waste he turned out to be.
Think he spent too much time at sea....
