Our new forum software brings a long-needed feature to our group. A place to submit photos easily for consideration for the coming year's calendar.

The photo folder will accept these file formats: png, jpg, jpeg, jpe and gif. NOTE: new iPhone users, as of this writing, we've included the Apple heic format however it has NOT been tested.

Click on the link above and it will take you to the album to upload your picture.

For a calendar submission, the file should be the original resolution, not a reduced size. These types typically won't work
  • Instagram clips
  • Facebook photos
  • email photos
We recommend connecting to this site on your phone and uploading directly to the folder. If you get a dialog box asking about download size, select "original" or largest size possible.

Some tips:
  • The format HAS TO BE landscape mode. Portrait(vertical layout) WILL NOT work
  • Pay close attention to what's in your background - Don't position the car so you have a tree coming out of your hood
  • Pay attention to lighting. Sunny Days ARE NOT the best days. A bright cloudy day is better, the light is smoother and there aren't any harsh shadows.
  • Before 10AM or within 2hrs of sunset are the best time. In between, the shadows make for a hard picture.
  • Sorry, no people in the pictures.

The folder is up, hopefully we'll see some submissions in the near future. I've put in one test upload, just to make sure the larger files would upload/download correctly. Now we just need your pictures.

Update on uploads
Yesterday, Tim added a bunch of photos to the submission folder.

Size is very important. Some of them are too small to use so I've contacted the person in the picture (Steve, Brian) directly.

The calendar pages are 8-1/2 x 11, the printing resolution is 300DPI - putting this into layman's terms, your picture size should be a minimum of 3300pixel x 2550pixel., about 5Mb or larger. If you see the image size is followed by "Kb", be warned it is probably too small.

Some additional size is preferred since some photos are shot on a different aspect ratio and the picture size needs to be cropped to fit the page properly.

How about these? My Cobra got really dusty in my search for the perfect place. Sacrifice Sacrifice.

Steve
Please upload the originals to the Gallery. There are some great shots

Repeating the upload process, use the link above to connect to the gallery to upload your pictures. If you do happen to get a 'Image too large' notice, let me know and you can upload to the club's DropBox account.
