    Paul, I reached out to BendPak, and as you suspected, they do not recommend making any modifications to the lift. I'll follow that advice and spend the ten minutes to change configurations when it is needed. Dave

    Here you go, Paul. The platform sits on the cross beam and can be set in either of two positions (narrow, or wide). The bolt holes are 5/8" diameter and the beam is 2" wide boxed steel. I'm thinking of replacing the bolts with pins like these...

    Thanks guys! The lift is set in the narrow configuration, but I'll need to move between narrow and wide frequently and wonder if I can use pins instead of bolts to secure the sliding platform in place. Any advice or experience with this?
