Well, after hitting the deer, and towing to KC and back, the truck revolted by apparently breaking the rear end. It's still drivable according to the service manager, but I can't tow. First available appointment is in September. Soooo, looking at options for West Virginia now. Sux....

Option 1 - Rent a truck - Various sources including Turo - $1,000 for the week.
Option 2 - Buy a used truck, sell when we get home....least favorite option
Option 3 - Borrow a truck....I hate borrowing other people's stuff, but may be my only option.
Option 4 - Cancel ..... Kent or Tony can take over.

After I posted this, I had sent Mr. Pundmann an email about my truck. In the meantime, I took the suggestion of Paul and contact Ford Customer Service explaining my situation. As I explained my situation, "Christine" with Ford asked that I wait a minute. Let me back up one step - After dropping off my truck, I just thought, Dang, truck has to be fixed, body shop has to have it, West Virginia trip, deer hunting....etc....I said well, God will provide a way. And, he DID!!

Wayne contacted me and offered his Truck to tow down to W. Virginia and Paul as well. Thanks guys for the offer.....However.....Pundmann just called and said my truck is fixed. Wait....What!?!?!? They said there was a heat shield that had dropped down on the drive shaft. It's held up by adhesive, and that had come loose. It's repaired and I can pick up tomorrow.

Now if only the Body shop would call and get it fixed.....I did call them to see if they have ordered ANY parts (Knowing I need a headlight, bumper, front fascia, radiator damper/louvres etc...) and they don't order until it's taken apart. I asked then if I should just take it to Ford and have them fix as parts MAY be more available to them. So, the body shop is calling me back tomorrow. I'm told by Ford that there are over 10,000 parts backordered....so, someone hasn't been building widgets for the umpteen thousand cars for the last year or something?!?!

Anyway, all good, may have to drive a wrecked truck to W. Virginia, but, at least I can now. :D :D :D

Tim, great news on the update! :)

Although I hate to hear it happened. Makes for some very expensive deer sausage!!
