Hinged hoods

Let me know if you need a picture of how mine was done.

Tim.

Do you have the same setup as in the previous post? Yes, I would like to see a picture. Thanks

Here's two pictures of the breese hinges on the car.

Thanks MP Tech. Sorry, I can't make the Saturday drive. I am getting my car painted next week and it will look more like yours. I'm having trouble getting a pic to post.

Do you live anywhere close to Festus so that you could come show my guys how to install this? They have not been able to get it to work.

Taylor (who posted the pic) is in Ofallon. If you can email a picture or three of what you have, I'll post for you so we can help. My email address (remove the spaces) is tlmauldin3127 @ gmail.com

My old car was a mkII and yes the hoods are different. Mine was more like a a Ingle layer and the hood frame went around most of the back side of the hood.

Speaking of hinged hoods. Has anyone had any issues with the front of the hood popping up a bit ? When the struts are on it does it, off it sits flat I’m suspecting theres a slight preload / compression going on in the closed position and it’s wanting to force / open the hinges up. Thought about relocating the brackets on the hood back some more.

Okay. A full year now and can’t get the hood hinges installed on my Mk11. The guy who has them has tried 3 times and can’t figure it out. Is there anybody that has the hinges installed and lives close enough to Festus to show him how they should be? Or does anybody know of someone who knows how to install them?

I'm confused, what hinges do you have?
Your picture shows hood pins and you say it is MK2. Is it a Breeze after-market, is it original MK2, or something else? Most of us have MK3 or MK4. If you can tell us what you have we can guide you better or put you in contact with someone or get some pics of a similar setup.
If you have PICs that would be more helpful. (you're also invited to our meetings and can check first-hand)
