Last Sunday the Normandy High School Class of 1966 had our 70th Birthday Party at Defiance Ridge Winery in Defiance MO.
The picture is of a classmate and friend I grew up with who came in from Nashville for the gathering.

Bob Doyle and I along with his older brother John rode motorcycles together during our Junior and Senior years. Bob’s dad…was our grade school principal.
Bob and I were also selected as the two students from a class of 653 students to represent the Normandy Class of 1966 at the Missouri Boys State our senior year.
Bob went on to college and joined the Air Force where he served as a C-130 pilot and pilot instructor before retiring as a Major after 23 years.
But what Bob is best known for is his company Major Bob Music in Nashville. Bob is the person who “discovered” Garth Brooks and remains his manager to this day.

It was good to reconnect with a good friend, great person and local boy who went on to make his mark on the world.
