Registration for the 2016 Lake Garnett Grand Prix Revival begins on 8/01/16.

Jim shared last night that all hotel rooms in the town of Garnett, KS are already booked. I confirmed that not only the hotel rooms but currently the RV park as well. They have some state road workers staying at the RV park now and only if they leave before 10/07 will they will have some RV openings. Jim said he booked a room about 20+ miles away but could not remember what town it was in? In doing some checking I think it was probably Ottawa, KS. They have a few hotel options there and it is about 20-21 miles from Garnett. I reserved a 2 Queen bedroom at the Super 8 hotel in Ottawa in case anyone else wants to do the same? Phone# is (785) 764-3408.

The Lake Garnett Grand Prix Revival is not a 10/10th's caliper experience but it is a cheap date for some fun track time on a retired road coarse!

I am going to try and go to this. I have friends who live South of Lawrence I can stay with.

Tim, I think Jim is counting on you to bunk with him again? Hope you're enjoying your vacation.

Registration for the 2016 Lake Garnett Grand Prix Revival is now open! This year there will be a limited number of RV spots available at the track/park. See link below for details.

A few of us have reserved rooms at the Super 8 hotel in Ottawa. Phone# is (785) 764-3408 in case anyone else wants to do the same.

Thanks Mike. I'll download the form and send it in as soon as I get home on Saturday. No access to printers right now. See you guys soon I hope.

FYI...just saw that the Lake Garnett Grand Prix Revival added another 100mph group and reduced the 80mph from 2 to 1 group! For those who may not be aware, registration opened on 8/01 and the 100mph group C was sold out by 8/05!!

Think I will stay home for this one. Have a planned trip to Arkansas to visit my Sister, and it may be that weekend. Ya'll have fun and take pics!

Talked to our buddy Bryce last night and I may re-think coming, but, just ride along with someone. Mike/Paul/Jim - when/what time are you leaving?

After last year I decided to take Friday off so was looking to probably leave right after lunch.

I haven't made plans yet, was waiting to see what everyone else was doing

Paul

Registration is pretty much sold out for this event but would anyone like to go with us and ride along? I enjoy watching and seeing the other cars almost as much as driving on the retired road coarse! I have a bed open and would consider taking on a roomie? Leaving late morning or early afternoon next Friday 10/07.

I'm out for this weekend. I went down to Arkansas last weekend to visit my Niece, Sister and Brother and need to get some things done around the house this weekend. Ya'll have fun and be safe!

That's too bad Tim. You'll be missed! We're meeting at 11:00 Friday if you change your mind? I'll encourage Bryce to consider joining us in Harrison.

Bryce posted these on Facebook

I'm confused, I thought I received a notification Friday that the track was closed due to 4" rain that hit Kansas and the track was damaged (?)
PICs look great!

Tim, thank you for posting the pics from Bryce. He's a great guy. Coleman must have taken them because Bryce was in our track group. He said he was really working on you to still come?

Mark, the Saturday track events were cancelled due to damage from the rain but they were able to get it repaired in time to save Sunday's events.

We'll give a recap at tomorrow's meeting.
