Not everyone may be aware I was in a fender bender on June 4th. I'm posting for a couple reason, 1) to let everyone know, and 2) so that everyone takes a minute to be sure your insurance is up to date with the value of your car. It was about 10:30 pm on my way home, setting at a red light, when a twenty (?) something just drove right into the back of me. He was not moving fast at all. I saw he wasn't going to stop, so I took my foot off the brake. The impact wasn't severe, I had no injury. He was in a Nissan, his car looked worse than mine, but it wasn't. Have gotten back one estimate, from SRC, about 2 miles from my house. Waiting for one from Murrill"s.
Just over $21,400.00

If you are new owner, one thing to be aware of is an Agreed Upon Value on your car. Have it appraised, and find a company that will write you a check for that if totaled. Although the damage above looks minor, think of the hours to repair that fiberglass body as well as make many of the custom aluminum parts behind the fender, the fuel tank brackets and the bent frame members. Something to think about before just signing up with anyone that will take you.

Tim, you are right on. Looking over the estimate, there is over $12,000 in labor, and over $8200 in parts.

I wonder if State Farm will 'purchase' me a replacement? Either one would need to be repainted.
Just e-mailed my repair estimates to State Farm. Should hear back in a few days.

Just talked to SF, they are going to issue a check to repair the car.

Damn, Rich. I know you were hoping it would be "totaled". Hope you get enough to cover what needs to be done. Gene

Just to keep things up to date. The insurance company has paid me for the damage to the car, not a total loss, no salvage title issues. I have decided to sell it as is. Should know in a few days if its sold.
I will be carless. :(

Ok, its official, sometime around July 30th, I will no longer have a cobra.

I will have a partially built one in the shop. Going to have to find a way re-motivate myself. Waiting on engine parts right now.
No Mark its leaving the state.

I assume it's going to Pennsylvania? Anyway, let's come up with a plan to get back started on your car. Keith and I will come out and get to work on it.

Happy for you, but bummed that you will be car-less. Let's get that Rollbar spread and get you re-motivated. I'm guessing that parts shopping will help with your motivation too! :D
Just say the word and I'll be there to help, I owe you LOTS of hours.
Meanwhile, you are always welcome to ride-along with me, in fact I'd enjoy the company.

Congrats on the sale. Having cash should speed things up on the other build. I've been trying to sell my motorcycle to speed thing up but have had no luck yet.

My motivation has been lacking some also lately. Money and the damn heat has slowed me down.

If you need a hand I would love to see what you got going on. Also if you need your brake just say and I will bring it right to you.

Looking forward to seeing the new machine come together.
