It looks like when my supercharger belt exploded, some of the fragments made it into the bearings and I now have to have new bearings installed. Car will be down for a week, but should be good as new after that. I've been so busy on weekends lately that I hardly haven't been drivining. I have things this weekend and next weekend, but still planning on driving to Putnam. Hopefully I can catch a ride in the passenger seat during a run and go through the classes. Is anyone else working on their cars anymore this year?

Only Mark/Madison may be going to Putnam. It filled up so fast, that Me and Paul could be out, but, are working with 10/10ths to see if something can be worked out. I'm chasing some oil blow by issues, but, other than that, not doing much else to it. When did your belt give up?

The internal belt on the SC shredded during the dyno testing. I looked at my records and I had that rebuilt 4 1/2 years ago. The belt is made of Kevlar and I probably need to replace it for $50 every 3 years as maintenance. Especially at the speeds I'm turning it. I wish I had taken pictures. It was amazing how much it shredded. I was expecting like a broken fan belt, but it was shredded into dust nd small components. Some of the Kevlar fragments must have made it into the bearing. In talking to 928Motorsports, who rebuilt my SC, they said that in over 50% of the time when the belt goes like that they have to put in new bearings. Thus putting the belt on a maintenance plan is a way cheaper alternative in the off season. Kind of like an oil change in the off season. If you guys don't go, maybe we could do something around here. That was one of my free weekends.

I have a little buffing to do.

A kid drove into the back of me while at a stop light. His (parents?) State Farm Ins is going to be surprised at the repair.

Hate to hear and see it Rich! :( I know some others have had issues with State Farm but they have been good to me on any home or auto claims.

Will see. So far they haven't even called to send out an appraiser. The first estimate was just under $17,000. That's right

Oh man, that stinks Rich. Now you'll have a reason to work on the other car.

$17k!! That's crazy expensive. I like it. (I see a Stack Injection in your future)
Any frame damage beyond the PS Quickjack?
For that amount I think it could be repaired, repainted, and a new crate-motor installed!
Where did you say you were sitting when you got hit?? Wonder how long I'd have to sit there before someone else came along :p

Dan, sorry to hear you're down again, it's been a rough year so far. Call me if you need any help.

Rich, that sucks. Are you ok? I've heard brakes lock up behind me before. Not a good feeling.

Mark, thanks but I pulls the SC in 15 minutes and shipped it off to 928motorsports. They should have it by next Wednesday and finished by Thursday. Once I get it back it will take about 15 mins and I'm back on line. Only thing I'll be out is the money to press in new bearings.
