I've mentioned this at the last meeting and I have enough interest to post a poll and more about this.

I was sent an email by Keith Mueller that the activities director for Marcus Theaters was interested in providing a private showing of the new Ford vs. Ferrari movie being released 11/15. I've made contact with the Ferrari club, and they are interested in partnering with us on this event. We would need a minimum of 50 butts for seats in their small theater. The Ferrari club has about 7 or 8 people at the moment. Please vote on the poll so I can gauge it it would be worth it or not and whether to meet with the theater and the Ferrari club to discuss further. Just need to know if you and your better half would attend or not. I know Steve/Pam F have committed to going along with two other people he knows. So, we're up to 12 at the moment. You are allowed ONE vote, so make it count as you can't change it.

This is a couples or solo event. As it get's closer, maybe would consider driving some of the cars (with tops or not depending on weather) and the Ferrari club would bring a few cars out as well. Could be a big event or, not at all depending on participation. Need to vote and get a count by end of September.

UPDATE: Save the date, 11/16 on your calendar. Marcus Theaters in St Charles will be hosting a car show and a matinee viewing of this movie. We didn't reserve the theater and we are working on discounted tickets based on a headcount. I think I have a pretty count from this group that I will pass along. At this time, the Ferrari, Porsche, Viper, ND4SPD, Cars and Coffee STL as well as Fast Lane will all be a part of the car show/movie. Could be a pretty big event, or if rain/snow, maybe not.

As soon as I have a more info on the tickets you can purchase, I will let you know. We will be getting the info ahead of general public, so, ticket's may not be an issue.

The theater is asking that you call them to provide your name and car type to "reserve" a spot at the car show. I spoke with Andrea in Marketing at 636-699-4144.

Well, best laid plans.....ok, this became a big deal, then not (too many cooks in the kitchen) and the theater isn't really offering anything. So, I saw a commercial about the movie and that tickets were on sale now. So, I looked on Fandango, and the St Charles 18 (where the car show will be) has a noon and 3:30 showing. The car show is 11a - 1p they say, but, no other details are given, so, let's just make our own plans eh?

I'm thinking we buy tickets for the noon showing, that way, we are there if the car show does happen. If not, no biggie. IF weather cooperates, I will drive my car, if not, I won't. We can then have a past movie party at our house if that works for everyone.
 
To be sure, select noon show, Marcus St Charles 18. Dan, on Fandango, It is showing I got the first two seats in the theater. Back Row, A14/A13. I'm sending a mass email to the other clubs now, so, if you want tickets, I would get them.
 
Got my tickets. Looks like the theater wants you to send them a message on FB for the car show.
 
That is correct. If you will be bringing your car, they want your name and car type so they can assign spots... Not sure about that, but since it's weather dependent, up to you

I will probably be leaving from this event to attend Nancy's German group's Annual Fall Dance so doubtful I will be able to bring my car? But, you're welcome to put my name down just in case so a space is reserved??
 
Somehow I managed to totally miss this thread. Val and I are going, we got seats C9-C12. We will bring the Cobra if the weather allows it, otherwise, if it’s raining, the F car.
 
There is a car show in the parking lot prior to the movie that starts at 11. I had just planned to meet there. You have to let me know if you are bringing your car so I can let the theater know and they will assign spots.
