Muncie Drag Strip Event

I will not be attending this event. As you know by now, Mark can't. I don't believe Dan will either. Mike/Kerry - just letting you know.

And exactly what is to keep you all from showing up as spectators???

BTW....its FREE to spectate....

This is the perfect club event as you don't have to worry about rain or breaking anything or towing the Trailer Queens....and you can throw empty beer cans at the losers...!:D

Bet those who attend will come away with a number of good ideas to implement in their own cars...and learn a lot about launching techniques for a light short wheelbase car in the process.

Kerry and Kathy

Uh, yeah, if you own an SPF. I take enough abuse from local SPF owners, you know who you are :). I don't need to drive 4 1/2 hours to get it. Those "launching" techniques can also break stuff you know.

Big Block Wussy......!!!:D:D:D

The purpose in learning an effective launch technique is to help AVOID breaking stuff.

"Be there or be square"......

Tim:

How can being at a drag strip with 30 to 50 other Cobra owners not be a fun time? When everyone gets back and is sharing tales, you're going to wish you had been there.

I agree with Kerry "be there or be square".

Steve
Yes I own an SPF. I'm sorry. I won't let it happen again. :D

Ok, let's go. You SCOF guys can hang with yourselves, ya'll like doing that :-D

Re: launching
Method 1: Left foot on left pedal...right foot on right pedal. Left foot up as fast as you can and right foot down in same fashion...is that easy or what. You will need to repeat this 3 or 4 times depending on your transmission, rear end and engine capabilities and distance you are going ie: 660' vs 1320'
2. slush box...right foot down...sit back and enjoy.

Mike, click the link below to see what happens when you perform your method with a big block :D A lot of tire spinning :(

Those of you that are planning on attending the Muncie event should have received an email from Randall Thomas asking you to register for the event.

When I checked the attendance list on the SCOF web site, the only local name listed was Dan Turnbull's. I don't know what the ramifications are if you don't register, but since it's free to register it can't hurt to do so. If you didn't get or have misplaced the registration form send me an email and I'll send you one.

Some of us will be attending as spectators and would not be listed as being registered...however if you would like us to...please advise.

Kerry:

Go ahead and register. There are plenty of people on the list that are just coming to watch. I think the breakdown is 25 cars planning to race, with another 30+ cars just coming to watch. Almost 90+ people.

Steve

Just make sure you don't say that you've already bought a F5R Car  :D

I've got the e-mail, but cannot respond to Randall as the e-mail address is the SCOF address that us less priveledged folks can't access.

?? A password secured email address ?? Dan was able to break the code. :)

Check out the attchment on my reply to Kerry. I'm sure you can email RT at that address since it is his work email.

I just sent a completed registration form to the email address provided and received this reply:

"What is this? for anti-virus reasons we do not open unknown attachments.

Please verify your name and your business with us.

thanks."

I sent a second email with added identification. The response seemed strange as the attachment sent was the same file name as the original registration form and should have been easily identified. The subject line also clearly stated "Muncie Rgistration".
